The first advisory board meeting of the UK Research Council-funded “Towards Zero-Carbon Aviation (TOZCA)” project was held on Tuesday, 30 November, in London.  The advisory board consists of expert representatives from the entire value chain of the aviation industry, government, NGOs, academia, and the UK Research Councils.  The objective of the £2.7 mln (FEC) project is to develop a comprehensive tool suite to simulate the most cost-effective transition towards a net zero-carbon aviation system by 2050, through changes in technology, fuels, operations, consumer behaviour and use of competing modes.  TOZCA is a collaborative project between UCL, the University of Leeds, and the University of Southampton.
