Brian Pearce is Honorary Professor at UCL in the Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources. He was previously Chief Economist at the International Air Transport Association, where he led research on key air transport industry and public policy issues, such as climate change, market liberalisation, infrastructure economic regulation and airline financial performance. He has been a member of the UK Airports Commission expert panel, Air New Zealand’s sustainability panel, chair of an expert group on economic instruments for HM Treasury and DfT and many other advisory positions. He is also Visiting Professor at Cranfield University Centre for Air Transport Management. Previous appointments include: Head of Global Economics at SBC Warburg Dillon Read, Chief Economist at the EY ITEM Club and Director of the Centre for Sustainable Investment at Forum for the Future. He holds an MSc in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics from UCL and an MSc in Economics from Birkbeck, University of London.
